How many reviews
the top five have.
Choose your trade and your city. You will see how many Google reviews the middle of the field has, where the busiest quarter starts and what the fifth most-reviewed business holds — and how far you are from each. 824 GTA markets, 41 trades.
How to read the numbers.
Median is the middle business: half have fewer reviews, half have more. Top quarter is where the busiest 25% start. 5th place is how many reviews the fifth most-reviewed business has — a practical line for the map pack, which shows three results and a "more places" list behind them.
Review count is not the only thing Google weighs for local results. Distance from the searcher, how well your listing matches the search and the overall prominence of the business all count. But among businesses at similar distances with complete listings, more recent genuine reviews is the lever an owner controls most directly. We explain the rest in how the map pack is decided.
Every trade, across the GTA.
Google review counts for 41 trades, from our survey of GTA business listings in August 2026. Only businesses found through Google Places are counted, because only they carry a review count. Free to cite with a link to this page.
Where the numbers come from.
We collected business listings across 26 GTA municipalities from Google Places and OpenStreetMap in August 2026 and recorded each one's Google review count on that date. A trade and city appear in the tool only when at least 8 businesses there have a review count — below that a median means nothing. 824 trade-and-city combinations qualify. Counts move every week; treat them as the shape of the market, not a live scoreboard.

Questions
Before you ask.
Are these numbers live?
No. They were recorded in August 2026 and are refreshed when we re-run the survey. Review counts in busy trades move every week, so treat them as the shape of your market.
Why is my city missing for my trade?
Because fewer than 8 businesses in that trade and city have a Google review count in our survey. Choose "Whole GTA" for the wider picture.
Can I buy reviews to catch up?
No. Paying for or incentivising reviews breaks Google's policies and can get reviews removed or the listing restricted. Asking every genuine customer, at the right moment, is what works.
