This page is built from our own check of 228 Kitchener business websites — every trade we track, every site requested directly. 32 of them no longer work. The rest are below.

Kitchener, trade by trade.
Trades where we opened at least eight working sites in Kitchener. "Dated" means the site loads but shows a hard sign of age: no HTTPS, no mobile layout, markup from the 2000s, an abandoned platform, or a copyright line five or more years old.
| Trade | Sites opened | Working | Dated | Without HTTPS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dental practices | 28 | 24 | 50% | 2 |
| Car dealerships | 19 | 13 | 8% | 0 |
What Kitchener sites are built on.
40% of the working Kitchener sites we could identify run on WordPress, against 43% in the GTA. The platform matters less than people think; what matters is whether anyone still maintains the site.
| Platform | Sites | Share of working sites |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | 70 | 40% |
| Wix | 14 | 8% |
| Squarespace | 8 | 5% |
| Shopify | 8 | 5% |

| Weebly | 4 | 2% |
| Webflow | 4 | 2% |
What these numbers do not say.
They do not say how many Kitchener businesses have no website. Our source for businesses outside the GTA is OpenStreetMap, and a business without a website tag there may still have one, so we do not publish that figure. Nor do they include Google review counts, which we only have for the GTA.
What they do say is reliable: every figure in the table is a website we requested ourselves, and sites behind bot protection are left out rather than guessed at.
